Uncommonly Father Heart

"Sheshan had no sons, only daughters, but he did have an Egyptian servant whose name was Jarha. Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore Attai to him."
-- 1 Chronicles 2:34-35
This unremarkable verse showed remarkable to me this morning. As I read it, I thought about the interesting tradition that is recorded in Old Testament books. A slave can bear children to the master that are counted as the master's own. Two conclusions come from this. One, that biology isn't as important in determining offspring. Two, that a slave's son/daughter can have a better life as the master's son/daughter.

To me these bring up deeper implications that reveal the Father Heart of God. I've colored penciled these two verses as red for the "Father Heart." Throughout the Bible, looking up father heart will net you next to nothing, and a concordance of the word "father" will just lead you down a chain of lineages. At the same time, as a Christian you KNOW that the father heart is there. Here's one place that I least expected it: 1 Chronicles.

The deeper implications of those same two conclusions are as follows.
1') God adopts us even though we are strays, sons of satan until salvation.
2') God elevates us to his position as royalty when we are saved. From slaves to sons.

With the pronouns used in verse 35, it's unclear if Attai is called as Sheshan's son or Jarha's. However, there are other instances of this tradition present, such as Jacob's sons being born through slaves of his two wives.
